Devon Partnership NHS Trusts Bank is made up of a pool of staff that provide temporary cover for staff shortages or short-term vacancies. As a member of our Bank team, you let us know when you are available and this is then matched with shift requirements across the Trust.
We provide mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity services, as well as a range of specialist & secure services for the wider south west region & nationally.
We are currently recruiting to Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers to join our internal staff bank, working within DPT teams across the county, including North Devon, Torbay, Teignbridge, West Devon, Exeter with East and Mid Devon.
Bank working includes inpatient and community services. You will be expected to support the multi-disciplinary teams in providing high quality mental health care to people who are acutely unwell.
Our Inpatient ward roles operate on a 24/7 shift basis and therefore enables staff to qualify for unsocial enhancements in addition to their basic pay.

Main duties of the job
The Care Certificate is the national
minimum qualification for all staff working in health and social care. If you
do not already hold this entry level qualification, you will be required to
complete it during the first six months of your employment. You will be
supported to achieve this qualification through e-learning and assessment in
practice. If you feel you hold a higher level qualification which would negate
the need for completion of the Care Certificate please highlight this in your
application and at interview.
There is a requirement of mandatory training to be
completed, which includes a 4 day PUMA/Restraint course, all training completed
is paid which you need to ask the Training team to confirm to Saferstaffing to
be added and paid. Training/E-Learning will only be paid if completed on a
weekday, any training completed on a weekend will be added to the closest
working day.
We are looking for people who have experience of working in a care setting, preferably in mental health, although this isn't essential. You must be able to demonstrate that you can work with compassion and empathy.
Due to the nature of the role, you are required to attend and pass a physical restraint training course as part of your induction. This essential training is required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all.

interventions, - assisting / facilitating in the running of group and
individual 1-1 activities, offering time in positive activity and engagement.

engagement and care of individuals who are distressed and / or verbally or
physically aggressive.

- Assist in all aspects of physical nursing care under
the supervision of a registered nurse.
