The service provides individual and group interventions in a range of modalities with a focus on building relationships. This includes the development of a shared formulation with each person on caseload, as well as pro-social groups (gardening,bee-keeping,cooking), psycho-educational groups (healthy self-esteem),and skills groups (DBT skills).

The role will be working on an individual and group basis with those on caseload to support them achieve outcomes jointly outlined on their personal development plan. Working with the team to educate and support those needing specific OT interventions.

It is important to the service to ensure the team are working cohesively and effectively together. The service dedicates time to team development and you will participate in this through reflective practice, team activities, and mindfulness sessions. You will need excellent communication, reflection and critical appraisal skills when working alongside colleagues in this setting.

The Occupational Therapy role and team within the service is still developing, and you will have the exciting opportunity to develop this further using your own skills and experience from prior roles to shape this.

You will often work under pressure and without direct supervision, so we are looking for someone confident and capable. Working within a prison setting can often be an intense environment therefore it is important that you utilise supervision and reflective practice to support your own wellbeing.

You will be a registered Occupational Therapist with appropriate qualifications and experience. Experience working within a prison or secure environment would be beneficial.
