We
are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling
Psychologist/Psychological Therapist to lead our Torbay Devon Psychology and
Psychological Therapy Team, covering Torquay,
Brixham and Paignton. W e believe Psychology is central to the understanding
of mental and physical wellbeing and the application of psychological knowledge
and skill to all our services is key to ensuring they are effective, efficient
and compassionate.
You will have strong leadership skills and will be responsible for leading a highly skilled team of Psychologists and Psychological Therapists who provide services for people with severe and complex mental health needs. You will have experience of Adult Mental Health Community settings, provision of supervision and working in multidisciplinary teams.
The Psychology and
Psychological Therapies Service supports close links with the local DClinPsy
and DCounsPsych training courses.
In addition to clinical supervision,
there will be opportunities to meet regularly with the other psychologists and
psychological therapists for CPD events and discussions about issues relating
to the consistent provision and development of psychological services for people
with complex mental health needs.

Main duties of the job
You will be a member of the Psychology and Psychological Therapies (PPT) Professional Lead team working with the PPT Operational Manager and Strategic Lead for Adult Mental Health, assisting with the implementation of our Strategic Plan and ensuring good governance for the PPT services.
You will work closely with colleagues in the Adult Mental Health Directorate ensuring the Psychology and Psychological practice is embedded throughout provision as the trust continues to implement the Community Mental health Framework. In this role you will be providing psychological leadership for the locality and support the provision of psychologically informed care. You would also support access to effective and efficient evidence based and evidence informed psychological therapy across clinical pathways, ensuring these meet the needs and choices of the people using our services.
As a member of the Psychology and Psychological Therapies Professional Lead team, you will be responsible for contributing to embedding of evidence informed practice, service development, evaluation and quality improvement, following national and local policies and guidance. We believe high quality psychological services are best achieved by looking after the wellbeing of staff and by supporting the development of a learning culture across our services.

- Qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (D.Clin.Psychol. or equivalent) and eligible for Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist Status in the British Psychological Society and Registered with HCPC.
- Or
- Psychological Therapist trained to masters level or equivalent in a specific psychological therapy and registered with an appropriate recognised professional body e.g. UKCP, BABCP.
- Further training or equivalent experience in either Older People, or Adult Psychological Therapies or Arts Therapies
