Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical or counselling psychologist who would like to develop their career further in a specialised inpatient multi-disciplinary setting dedicated to people who have an eating disorder, in the South West of England. You will have responsibility for the day to day management and supervision of Psychology and Psychological Therapies staff who are working on The Haldon, coordinating the delivery of these psychological services.
Main duties of the job
The service particularly values the development of a psychologically-informed environment to support staff and clients and this post will be central to delivering this. You will also work closely with The Haldon Ward manager and other senior Clinical staff and managers involved in the Eating Disorders pathway, overseeing governance, service developments and other leadership issues. You will also be one of a team of Professional Leads in Psychology and Psychological Therapies within the Specialist Services Directorate where a strong network of professional support is available. The post will be supported via clinical supervision, line managed by the service manager of the Haldon Unit in conjunction with Professional Supervision from the Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Strategic Lead in Specialist Services. Excellent links are established with the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programmes at the Universities of Plymouth and Exeter where training placements and service related research opportunities are encouraged.
