Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking for a Band 7 Team Manager who can bring the skills, experience and enthusiasm required to effectively lead and manage others in order to meet the needs of people referred to the Liaison Psychiatry service.
Liaison Psychiatry is the branch of psychiatry that specialises in the interface between medicine and psychiatry.
Liaison Psychiatry Services nationwide are currently experiencing significant investment and we are in the privileged position in Devon of being able to further enhance and develop our already well-established Liaison Psychiatry services.
Main duties of the job
Liaison Psychiatry accept referrals from the District General Hospital (RDUH) via the in-patient wards and the Emergency Department. These include requests for specialist mental health assessment and interventions to people of all ages from 18 to end of life. The mental health presentations of those accessing our services are varied and include self-harm as well as both functional & organic mental illness.
We provide a 7 day per week in-and-out-of-hours comprehensive service to patients, clinicians and carers.
We are seeking a visionary and motivated individual to join us at this exciting time, promoting dynamic and innovative ways of working.
You will have a key role in contributing to the leadership of the service and you will provide line management supervision as well as overseeing all operational aspects of the service. The role will have a clinical component alongside operational management.
You will need experience in clinical practice, supervision and operational line management, including HR processes. Working with other agencies, as part of the wider MDT is an important aspect of this role.
