Job summary

The Divisional Director has overall leadership and managerial responsibility for the service quality and delivery within the Division. This includes ensuring Trust wide values are fully embedded across all service within the Division.

The Divisional Director has overall responsibility and accountability for developing and implementing the strategy and business plan for the Division to support the Trust Annual Plan. This will encompass all aspects of operational, financial and commercial management.

Main duties of the job

LEADERSHIP

1. Create a strong and effective team by providing strong and visible leadership and a clear strategic vision and direction for staff working within the Division.

2. Directly manage the Senior Division leadership team including Clinical Director, Head Nurse and Heads of Service.

3. In line with the values of the organisation promote a culture where there is a focus on partnership working, and an ethos of personal/individual responsibility and accountability

4. Work in a way that ensures that all groups of staff are involved in the development and shaping of services within the Division.

5. Manage the relationships with ICS, other statuary partners and VCSE to engage them in developing the Division's strategic direction and work programmes

SERVICE DELIVERY & TRANSFORMATION

1. Lead the development and delivery of effective services within the Division ensuring services meet quality standards and performance.

2. Within the context of the Trust's overall transformation programme, lead the development of new models of care for services within the Division, ensuring care pathways support safe and effective provision of care.

3. Lead the delivery of effective services for the Division, working across HPFT itself and across the health and care system to achieve required levels of performance.

4. Develop effective communication plans within the Division and externally to communicate the Division strategy and plans.

  • Continuous management and personal development

Desirable

  • Programme management qualification or equivalent experience

Previous Experience

  • Extensive experience at a senior management level in the NHS or other public sector organisation of running operational services.
  • Significant experience of working with senior clinicians and multi professional teams in achieving service improvement
  • Significant experience of working with partners and stakeholders in delivering sensitive changes to services
  • Evidence of achieving targets and objectives within a challenging environment
  • Experience of planning and implementing long term strategy
  • Track record in delivering financial plans and cost improvement programmes
