Job summary

An exciting opportunity for the post of AMHP Service Team Leader has become available within AMHP Services.

You will provide leadership in the daily management and provision of the AMHP service county-wide. You will work alongside the AMHP Service Manager to continue to develop and improve this essential service.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • be accountable for the allocation, deployment, prioritisation and delivery of AMHP services
  • work with the Service Manager to implement and review systems, policies, standards and procedures
  • provide overall leadership for AMHP Practitioners to ensure their services are integrated with and responsive to, other local service needs
  • ensure that practice within the teams meets relevant standards, is appropriate, timely, safe and follows agreed professional practice
  • be responsible for the daily management of the AMHP Duty Hub.

Essential

  • Professional qualification in relevant area of health or social care
  • Postgraduate qualification or formal Management training
  • Strong AMHP Approval and practice
  • Demonstrable success at managing change and development
  • Demonstrable success in quality improvement
  • Proven ability in making a significant contribution to the achievement of organisational objectives
  • Proven ability to work flexibly and to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working with Service Users and Carers
  • Experience of work involving Clinical Governance
  • Knowledge of and ability to use contemporary management and management information techniques

Desirable

  • First or higher degree

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Sound knowledge of Department of Health Policy, especially regarding health and social care policies for Mental Health in both primary and secondary and specialist areas
