An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and innovative Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Essex Learning Disability Partnership (ELDP) based in North Essex in the Enhanced Support Team (EST).
The Enhanced Support Team provides enhanced support to adults with learning disabilities who are presenting challenging behaviour and / or mental health problems in the community to prevent, where possible, admission to hospital. The team acts as a gateway to the inpatient assessment and treatment service and works in close liaison with inpatient services to facilitate appropriate admission and timely discharge from services. The team provides an 8am-8pm service Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm Weekends and Bank Holidays and works with service users in a variety of health and social care settings.
You will be forward thinking and able to demonstrate clinical knowledge in the area of adult learning disabilities based on current evidence. You will autonomously undertake specialist assessments and interventions with individuals with challenging behavior and/or mental health needs.
You will receive regular clinical supervision and support from the Senior Lead Occupational Therapist and peers. You will be actively encouraged to participate in continuing professional development activities.

To assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans for service users within the North Essex Enhanced Support Team, including those with profound learning disabilities, additional sensory and/or physical disability, mental health diagnosis and/or challenging behaviour.
To assess and develop treatment plans for service users presenting with challenging behaviour and/or mental health needs.

- To work with and be available to other OTs and generic technicians for support and joint consultation regarding clinical practice as required

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION TRAINING
Essential
- BSc/MSc/PG Dip Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and associated packages
- Completion of preceptorship and/or evidence of having met the full KSF Gateway for Band 5 OT's
- Evidence of relevant post grad training
Desirable
- Membership of RCOT, including specialist section
- First line management training
- Practice Placement qualification/APPLE accreditation
- AMPS/ESI/SI training
- Broad base of clinical experience
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Post registration experience in relevant clinical setting
- Applied experience of providing both individual and group work interventions.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) assessment tools, or others appropriate to area.
