Job summary

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced HR adviser to join our Employee Relations Team. This role is part of a wider People and OD Team and will be providing HR advice and support to our corporate directorates. This is an ideal opportunity for someone keen to develop their experience and career in human resources in the NHS. You will be supported by our experienced Business Partnering and Employee Relations Team and be part of a wider high performing People and Organisational Development Team at an outstanding Mental Health and Learning Disability NHS University Foundation Trust. Main duties of the job

To support the Head of Human Resources Business Partnering in the provision of an operational human resource management service within corporate services. The post holder will be the first point of contact for case work and operational issues which will include HR support for change management/service configuration, employee relations, interpretation of employment legislation, and development of employment policy.All staff should comply with the Trust's Anti-Discriminatory Statement, Employee Charter, Trust Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and Equality and Diversity

Provide first line advice to managers and staff on the interpretation andapplication of both national and local terms and conditions of employment,current legislation and codes of practice, ensuring that good employmentpractices are maintained and legal obligations upheld. Support managers and staff across the Trust by providing specific HR advice and guidance on sensitive health, grievance, disciplinary, harassment or poor performance cases. Actively promote and use the workforce information system to support the operational requirements within the Trust. Take part in the rota to evaluate the banding of new posts using Agenda for Change guidelines. Undertake the monitoring of sickness absence and to work with the Head of Human Resources Business Partnering in relation to problems areas andspecific cases, advising on appropriate remedies e.g. redeployment, phasedreturn to work, ill health retirement applications. Provide support in specific project areas. Support in investigatory and change management processes as required. Support managers in formal meetings with members of staff Assist in the delivery of in-house training to support the education anddevelopment of Trust staff

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Level 5 CIPD or above, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
  • CIPD membership

Experience

Essential

  • Significant recent experience in a similar employee relations role
  • Significant recent experience in generalist HR issues advising on terms and conditions and application of policies and procedures
  • Demonstrable experience of working in HR
  • Experience of Working with Trade Unions

Desirable

  • A proven track record in HR in the NHS and/or the Public Sector
  • Experience in delivering training
