Job summary
The Employee Relations Manager role at the Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation Trust is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the Trust's employee relations casework. A key responsibility is to ensure that employee relations case work is carried out in line with the Trust processes, in accordance with current legislation and best practice whilst ensuring that our people are at the forefront of all we do with minimal impact.
The post holder will manage a team of 4 HR Advisors and provide specialist HR support for employee relations casework, interpretation of employment legislation, development of employment policy and procedures, change management/service and configuration. A CQI approach to this area of work is essential to enable innovative solutions, progress of casework and the management of staff.
Main duties of the job
To manage and co-ordinate all employee relations casework for the Trust within the employee relations KPIs ensuring consistency in approach and outcomes as well as ensuring that processes are followed. This will involve the sharing of knowledge and best practice with managers within the organisation by developing and implementing specific HR training across the organisation. Assisting in the development and updating of policies and procedures, ensuring that they reflect current legislation and respond to the organisational needs. Teamwork is essential in this role and providing professional support to the HR Advisors is key to the teams success. Working in partnership with our accredited trade union colleagues is important to assisting in the development and maintenance of a culture of positive employee relations. Experience of developing strategies and practices to constructively resolve complex HR issues is a requirement of the role. Providing specialist expert HR advice to Trust managers on issues such as discipline, grievance, sickness management and employment law. This may involve advice and support on issues for which there are no clear guidelines and may set precedents.
