Job summary

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is looking for enthusiastic and motivated qualified High Intensity CBT Therapists for Mid Essex primary care psychological therapy IAPT service, Health in Mind.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part ofour innovative services, fundamentally changing the way in which psychological treatments are provided. We are seeking highly motivated, dynamic, flexible and creative staff to contribute to our success. You will be part of a multi-professional workforce that will significantly increase access to treatment for people with depression, anxiety and other common mental health conditions, within a Primary Care setting.

Main duties of the job

The IAPT services provide psychological therapy within the standards of the stepped care model i.e. Step 2 (Low Intensity) and Step 3 (High Intensity). We actively encourage our therapists to develop specialisms to help with our service delivery.

Our services are focused on delivering high quality therapy, being amongst the highest performers in the region. We pride ourselves on our innovative group work, including perinatal, PTSD, Health Anxiety at Step 3, plus many more. We also have opportunities for people to champion ideas and create new ways of working within the IAPT.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A registered core profession as required by the BABCP (http://www.babcp.com/Accreditation OR Applicants to training who do not have a BABCP recognised core profession can enter via the KSA route, demonstrating that they have the knowledge, skills and attitudes required. Further information can be found on the BABCP website. If you are a PWP, without a core profession, you will need to have 2 years post qualification PWP experience by the time the course starts.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in CBT and eligibility for BABCP accreditation.

Desirable

  • BABCP Accredited
  • Demonstrable experience of working in primary care

AREAS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services
  • Experience of delivery of short term focused interventions.
  • Full range of skills and competencies as laid out in the competence framework for CBT (Roth & Pilling 2007)
  • Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets.
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Ability to plan and manage own caseload and time
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication
  • Able to write clear reports and letters.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care
  • Demonstrates understanding of issues surrounding clinical risk
