Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist in Primary Care Mental Health services, within Adult Community Mental Health services within HPFT. HPFT has recently received a rating of Outstanding from CQC.
The postholder will work primarily from HPFT and primary care bases across East and North Hertfordshire. This is one of two band 7 psychologist posts covering East and North Hertfordshire.
Main duties of the job
The applicant will be expected to work with clients presenting with a wide range of difficulties and diagnoses and will receive high quality supervision to support them in their role. The post holder will join an emerging, supportive team of psychological therapists who offer assessment and a range of different psychological interventions within a multidisciplinary primary care mental health team.
There is a wealth of experience and knowledge of different therapeutic approaches within the team and regular opportunities for peer reflection and supervision. The post holder will also be provided with CPD opportunities and supported in their professional development.

Essential
- Postgraduate qualification in one of the core mental health professions e.g. psychiatric nursing, clinical psychology, medicine, social work and occupational therapy or to have substantial other relevant experience and with demonstrable competence to work in the mental health field.
- And Diploma and / or M.Sc. in CBT leading to demonstrable eligibility for accreditation with the BABCP OR Recognised qualification in Family / Systemic Psychotherapy; membership of the AFT or IFT and current full registration with the UKCP, OR Recognised qualification in Psychological Counselling and current full registration with the UKCP or the BACP OR Recognised qualification in Cognitive-Analytic Therapy leading to UKCP CAT Psychotherapy Status OR Completion of DBT Intensive Training and PG Certificate in DBT
- Continuing registration with body overseeing practice of core mental health profession, e.g. NMC or HCPC.
