Job summary

We are a 24/7 crisis support which includes, community and hospital based assessments, therapeutic intervention packages, telephone crisis line, parent/carer support, psycho-education and prevention.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Social Worker to join our CAMHS Crisis and Assessment team, in a new Band 5-6 developmental post.

We are a friendly, dynamic and supportive team and we are looking for somebody who can make a positive contribution to our high quality work.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be a qualified social worker and have some experience or additional understanding of Child and Adolescent mental health.

We are willing to develop the skills of someone who can demonstrate the motivation and interest to work with young people and families.

You will be supported to complete your ASYE, and, after demonstrating that you are able to meet the competencies of a Band 6 clinician, you will be moved into a Band 6 post.

Training

Essential

  • An appropriate professional social work qualification (e.g. DipSW)
  • Education to degree level
  • Registration with HCPC

Desirable

  • Relevant post-qualifying training for social workers.
  • Further training/qualification in relevant area of practice. E.g. Family Therapy, Child Psychotherapy; Group Therapy; Counselling; Play Therapy

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a social care environment.
  • Experience of partnership working with service users and carers, demonstrating dignity and respect
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Children policy, practice and procedures

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Child & Adolescent development or willingness to learn as part of the progression post.
  • Knowledge of Child and Adolescent and/or Adult mental health or willingness to learn as part of the progression post
  • Knowledge of current legislation and guidance relevant to the post

Communication Skills

Essential

  • Experience of using electronic recording systems and ability to produce accurate, ? appropriate and timely reports.

Desirable

  • Excellent ability to communication with a wide range of stakeholders including service users and carers, other professional colleagues, members of other organisations and local communities, verbally and in writing

  • Experience of analysing complex assessments
