Job summary

We are looking for experienced mental health social workers to join our busy and dynamic Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) based in Watford, West Hertfordshire.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,066 and a maximum payment of £1,845 per annum (pro rata where applicable).

Main duties of the job

You will be:

  • An experienced clinician working with service users at various phases of their mental health.
  • Passionate about making a difference for individuals and their carer's during their personal journey.

The role:

  • Providing urgent assessments to those considered to have acute mental health concerns and to robust home treatment options as an alternative to hospital admission.
  • A role that is varied and challenging, offering an opportunity to work in a variety of settings, with people with a variety of mental health needs
  • As gatekeepers for hospital admission, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide safe and effective treatment in the community, and facilitate early discharges from the acute inpatient units.
  • Working collaboratively with our service users, their carer's and our colleagues to positively manage risk in the acute care pathway, whilst enabling and empowering an individuals' recovery journey.

Job Summary:The post holder will support the Team Leader/CATT Manager in thedevelopment and implementation of a multi-professional CrisisResolution/Home Treatment Team providing a high quality service to meet theneeds of people in acute phases of mental illness, and their carers. To ensurethe continued efficient and effective running of the team, providing leadershipand supervision within the multi-disciplinary staff group as appropriate.The post holder will undertake crisis assessments of people with mentalhealth problems in acute crisis and where appropriate provide intensivecommunity based treatment/support services as an alternative to in-patientadmission.As part of the CATT team providing 24 hour care for the local population,depending upon the team, the post holder will offer crisis mental healthassessment and intensive treatment and will take part in the rota for Helplineservice provision.The service will be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.The post holder will be responsible for helping to maintain team systems andprocesses for effective team and service provision, including outcomemeasures and audit under the direction of the Team Leader

To respond sensitively, to the needs of relatives and carers, often in a highly emotive setting.1.6 To liaise with other professionals in relation to client care, actively participating in care planning and review meetings, and attending case conferences as appropriate.1.7 To advise others as to the role and practices of the CATT1.8 To maintain positive working relationships and clear communications with team members and other professionals
