We are recruiting for a 12 month fixed term position, based in Stevenage MHST until April 2024 and then based in the Hertfordshire MHST as per service need thereafter.
As part of Hertfordshire CAMHS transformation, our priority is simple: to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.
Driven by this goal and in line with NHS long term plans, we have exciting opportunity for an experienced Supervisor/ Educational Mental Health Practitioner/ Children's Wellbeing Practitioner/ Qualified CBT practitioner to Supervise within an MHST.
Please note, due to this post being fixed term, access to a University based Supervisor course will not available, therefore knowledge and experience of delivering supervision is required upon recruitment. Relevant training and demonstrable experience of delivering low intensity CBT interventions with children, young people and parent/carers is essential.
MHST's work at the forefront of innovation in Children's and Young Peoples Mental Health and to play an instrumental role in a forward-thinking service delivering interventions into schools and other settings in Hertfordshire.
This role is a chance to make a difference in young lives, and as such duties will include elements of operational management in support of the Team Leader as well as clinical activity.
Main duties of the job
- As a Supervisor you will support the Team Leader to deliver the aims of Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs).This role requires flexibility, dynamism and above all a passion for working with CYP in educational settings whilst also motivating, inspiring and supporting your team to do the same.
- Supervisors are responsible for the delivery of evidence based interventions within MHSTs in schools/colleges. This includes holding a manageable case load whilst providing supervision, support and guidance to qualified and trainee EMHPs.
- Supervisors will be a graduate qualified health care professional with experience of delivering clinical supervision, ideally, having completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision (EMHP/CWP/CYP-IAPT Supervisor Course).
- The post holder will have formal CBT training e.g. CYP-IAPT/ have completed the HEE Postgraduate Diploma in Education Mental Health Practice / Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Wellbeing Practice for children and young people or a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with experience of working with CYP's/families in a clinical capacity (e.g. in a CAMHS setting or similar) and/or within educational settings.
- You will have consolidated post graduate experience of delivering evidenced-based CBT interventions with CYP (both individually and in groups) formild to moderate mental health issues such asanxiety, low mood and behavioural problems.
