The professional lead role for Adult Community Mental Health Services offers all this. You will be fully supported by both line management and strong professional structures across OT and AHP groups.

You will be a member of the senior management team within one of our strategic business units and would be a key player in service transformation. You will be supported to embed continuous quality improvements within the Occupational Therapy Service. We have robust clinical leadership structures across our AHP professions with opportunities to work with others across the trust.

We have a proven record for providing CPD opportunities in the trust for all our AHPs. We are looking for someone keen to grow and develop into this role. We would meet the learning opportunities we identify for the successful candidate. You would also have access to a wide range of in house learning opportunities as well as mentoring and coaching alongside supervision.

Main duties of the job

You will provide professional leadership across the Community Adult Mental Health Teams being based in one of the community hubs. As well as professional groups and structures you will be a key member of the Strategic Business Unit which is responsible for these services, offering OT advice and perspective to new transformation work and projects.

You will be responsible for all ACMHS OT staff, which includes 2 Head OTs ( B7), Specialist OTs, Band 5 staff on rotation, OT Apprentices and Assistant OT Practitioners. The role also supports the Community Eating Disorder Service OTs and has strong links with the Enhanced Primary Mental Health Service. We also work closely with the whole MDT which alongside traditional roles also includes employment specialists utilising the Individual Placement Support Model.

The Trust OT services utilise the Model of Human Occupation and has the full range of Assessments. Intervention tools and training embedded. There is increasing demand to consider the sensory needs of our service users as an area of future development. External training opportunities are supported in line with service priorities.

Essential

  • BSc/MSc/PG Dip Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of clinical post registration training
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and associated packages
  • Practice Placement qualification/APPLE accreditation

Desirable

  • Membership of RCOT, including specialist section
  • First line management training
  • Solution Focussed Brief Therapy training
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Post registration experience in relevant clinical setting/s at a B7 level
