Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Clinical Psychologist and are interested in receiving applications from either newly qualified therapists or therapists with post qualification experience.
** The post holder will be able to progress from Band 7 to band 8a once they demonstrate that they meet the competencies specified for Band 8a. **
The post holder will be professionally supervised by an experienced senior clinical psychologist and will have the opportunity to be part of an innovative and active group of Psychological professionals, working across 4 counties in East of England. The service has strong links with the psychology departments at both the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Essex, in relation to both clinical training and research. HPFT has a strong commitment to supporting on-going continuing professional development.
Applicants will need to be registered as a practitioner psychologist with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Main duties of the job
The post can be full or part time and will be based with our Astley Court Inpatient Assessment and Treatment and the Enhanced Assessment and Treatment Service based at Astley Court. . The post holder will provide a psychological service to people admitted to Astley Court.
About us
The assessment and treatment service provides a specialist health service to adults with a learning disability who may have additional mental health needs, challenging behaviour and complex communication needs.
Astley Court provides support to adults presenting with challenging behaviour and/or mental health needs living in the community, in collaboration with the local community teams. The EATS team acts as a gateway to Astley Court, and work closely with the inpatient assessment and treatment unit and the community learning disabilities teams in order to facilitate admission, when appropriate, and discharge from the service.
