Job summary
We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about working with children who are care for by the Local Authority. The children we support have experienced developmental trauma and mental health difficulties.
You will need to have the appropriate professional qualification and experience to work in the multi-disciplinary CAMHS Targeted Team based in Radlett. This is a countywide post and will involve travelling across the county.
The post-holder will be a member of the award winning Community CAMHS Targeted Team working with children and young people presenting with emotional and behavioural problems where they may have a history of complex attachment difficulties due to abuse, neglect, trauma which are causing emotional distress and impacting on their mental health. The children we support always have a social worker who is actively supporting the family and who may be on the edge of care. Looked after by the local authority or children who have been adopted.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be a member of the multi-disciplinary clinic team and will provide a high standard of service to children, adolescents and their families/carers and to professionals from other organisations. They will be autonomously responsible for assessing and delivering intervention to children, young people and their families/carers in relation to a range of highly complex emotional, psychological and behavioural problems, within the context of CAPA (The Choice and Partnership Approach) and CYP-IAT. As team working with Trauma we also follow a consultation model where we meet with the key professionals around the child before offering appointments to the child and family. There is a big emphasis on working systemically within the team and we are often supporting complex networks around the child.
The post-holder will work within professional guidelines and under the clinical/professional supervision of senior clinicians of own core profession. The post-holder will provide clinical/professional supervision to trainees on placement, more junior staff of the same discipline and multi-disciplinary colleagues for purposes of training and continuing professional development. The post-holder will contribute to research, audit and evaluation for service development.

Essential
- Qualification in one of the following and current full professional registration as relevant to the specific profession: ?
