Psychological Services Designated Quadrant Lead (AMH)
We are seeking an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or equivalent to be Consultant lead for the Psychological Services within our dynamic Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS) within Hertfordshire (Welwyn Garden City, Ware, Cheshunt and Bishop Stortford).
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role in liaison with other senior leadership roles includes:
- Responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice across the quadrant and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice.
- To ensure supervision and support for other clinical staff who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
- To act as a highly specialised resource to the team.
- To pro-actively contribute, with other senior clinical and professional leads to the development and articulation of best practice in psychological interventions and psychologically informed practice across the quadrant.
- The post holder will contribute to the reduction of risk in all areas of responsibility.
- To undertake additional psychological services trust leadership duties as defined by the Head of AMH Psychological Services
- To hold a psychological therapies clinical caseload and to work as part of the multi disciplinary service

Essential
- FOR CLINICAL / COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGISTS : Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Further training in a specialised area of psychological practice through formal postdoctoral training (diploma or equivalent), OR a combination of specialist short courses, together with an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice with an experienced clinical supervisor, at an equivalent level to a postgraduate diploma. Completion of a clinical supervision training (short course) sufficient to be able to supervise doctoral trainees.
- Registered with the HCPC
- OR FOR ADULT PSYCHOTHERAPISTS: Post-graduate training in Psychotherapy provided by one of the Accrediting Organisations of the UKCP leading to Full Clinical Individual Membership of the UKCP, and Membership of one of the UKCP organisational members.
- Or Post-graduate training in Psychotherapy provided by one of the BACP Accredited courses and Accreditation with the BACP.
- Or Post-graduate training in Psychotherapy with a BPC Accredited provider leading to Registration with the BPC.
- Or Post-graduate training in CBT with BABCP Accreditation
- Evidence of further training in treatment techniques or areas of clinical need, and knowledge of management or research. E.g. ? Having taken the Supervisors Course for Adult Psychotherapy.
