We are seeking a Specialty Doctor in Intellectual Disabilities based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Main duties of the job
About your role
The Trust is seeking to employ a Specialty Doctor to join the Community Learning Disability Team based at Saffron Ground Stevenage under the clinical supervision of Dr Mukherji, Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Director. Other areas of work will involve home visits /clinics in the East and North Herts locality and joint working with the CATT team.The post holder will work within the community team providing psychiatric assessments and follow up for adults with learning disabilities and co morbid mental health or behaviour disorders
You must ensure the relevant professional registration is maintained, including Section 12.

Qualifications
Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered medical practitioner with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Section 12 approval (or eligibility for Section 12 approval).
Desirable
- MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- A diploma in Psychiatry or MRCPsych or equivalent.
- Interest in working towards AC status.
CLINICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Learning Disabilities with at least two years in an approved training scheme.
- Experience of working in community settings in Learning Disabilities.
- Ability to work well in Multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
- Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
