Band 7, with development to Band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist Post, inpatient Tier 4 CAMHS service, Forest House Adolescent Unit, HPFT
Full-time/Part-time post up to 30 hours
Note: The post holder will be able to progress from Band 7 to Band 8a once they demonstrate that they meet the competencies specified for Band 8a.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Specialist CAMHS Tier 4 inpatient service. You would join our multi-disciplinary team at Forest House Adolescent Unit (FHAU), including a Consultant Lead Clinical Psychologist.
Main duties of the job
We work with young people from 13-18 years, providing specialist assessment and interventions (individual, family and group). Along with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you would offer both direct clinical work and indirect work with the staff group, as an integrated member of the MDT which includes systemic psychotherapists, nurses, OTs, art/drama therapists, social workers and psychiatrists.
As a clinical/counselling psychologist within HPFT, you would have strong links with psychologists across our CAMHS service. In addition to the inpatient unit, our CAMHS service includes a tier 4 Home Treatment Team, four community clinic tier 3 teams, a Targeted Team for CLA children, a specialist Eating Disorder Team, a Crisis Team and a DBT team. Clinical and counselling psychologists are within most of these teams, from assistant psychologists up to band 8b, with over 30 Psychology posts within our service. We also have Consultant Lead Clinical Psychologist posts within our Tier 3 service and Tier 4 service, and one of the two Professional Leads for Psychological Therapists in CAMHS is also a Clinical Psychologist. As well as Consultant Leads for Psychology, we also have Consultant Leads for Systemic Psychotherapy and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

There are a number of opportunities for CPD, close links to the University of Hertfordshire DClinPsych training programme, and regular meetings with FICAPS (Forum for Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychology Services).
