Job summary

Due to a restructuring of the team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist. To provide Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions for a specified service user group, to carry a caseload as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and to develop the Occupational Therapy service provision within the setting.

Main duties of the job

We welcome band 5 OTs wishing to develop their skills on the job and will be supported to become a band 6 Occupational Therapist. We also welcome band 6 Occupational Therapists wishing to get experience in a specialist setting where you will be able to use your core OT skills by promoting participation and independence in Activities of Daily living, whilst having the opportunity to strengthen and develop these in specialist areas such as Sensory Integration, Positive Behaviour Support and Equipment needs.

You will be joining a highly dedicated and creative Occupational Therapy service and will be encouraged and supported to undertake learning and development opportunities both in clinical and leadership fields.

Due to this being a community post and much of the Occupational Therapy input taking place in individuals homes or day centres, access to a vehicle is essential.

We invite and welcome further discussions from anyone keen to apply.

About us

The post will allow you to join the Hertfordshire Specialist Learning Disability Service, where you will have the chance to work as part of a dedicated and innovative MDT - to help to improve the lives and wellbeing of individuals with a Learning Disability whilst.

The team is part of a forward-thinking Trust who are rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC and this year's winner of the HSJ Mental Health Trust of the Year award. We were rated the 4th highest best places to work in the country in the latest NHS survey.

We are a supportive and forward thinking team, with great peer networks; we actively promote learning and professional development with opportunities in both clinical and leadership fields of work.
