Job summary

Physiotherapist Band 6 fixed term post

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Specialist Learning Disability Services based in Buckinghamshire on a fixed term basis.

The successful candidate will work as an influential and integral member of a diverse multi-disciplinary team and will join the growing Physiotherapy service.

You will be highly motivated to develop your clinical skills with adults with learning disabilities and will be able to demonstrate an interest in working with this client group. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be enthusiastic about working as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team.

You will receive regular clinical supervision and support from the members of the Physiotherapy team and will be actively encouraged to participate in continuing professional development.

Main duties of the job

Key job roles:

To assess, develop and implement assessment, treatment and management for adults with learning disabilities.

To provide advice and training to carers, relatives, and other professionals regarding the management and care of adults with learning disabilities.

To undertake supervision of junior staff, therapy assistants and students as required.

To promote the specialist services provided by HPFT to improve the health and well-being of adults with learning disabilities.
