Main duties of the job
This post would suit someone with a core mental health qualification and registration (including Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or other appropriately registered therapists - see person spec for details) or a psychology graduate with some clinical experience and who also has an interest in working collaboratively with service users to develop their skills to improve their ability to tolerate and manage strong emotion. We are happy to consider individuals who have only recently qualified and who are keen to develop their skills in this area as well as core competencies around care coordination. Also it would suit someone who loves working as part of a team and alongside multidisciplinary colleagues. Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of working with this service user group in any care setting, or who has transferable skills. The role will be interesting and varied, and the worker will have an opportunity to contribute to our group therapies programme for this group. There are also excellent opportunities to progress and undertake further training to progress.
The post will be based out of one of the community teams, but the ability to work flexibly as the needs of the service demands will be essential. The post holder would expect some travel within their working week.

This offers an exciting opportunity to join an established group of therapists to offer a quadrant wide therapy service within the community mental health team, as well as joining the wider network of therapists across the trust. - Continuing registration with body overseeing practice of core mental health profession, e.g. NMC or HCPC; for Graduate Workers registration with BPS.
Desirable
- Qualification and continuing registration* in one of the core mental health professions (e.g. mental health wellbeing practitioner, psychiatric nursing, social work, occupational therapy) or graduate worker with substantial other relevant experience and with demonstrable competence to work in the mental health field
