Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced Mental Health Nurse to work part time in our Early Memory Diagnosis and Support Services in both East Hertfordshire.
Our East team is based in Welwyn Garden City and Bishop's Stortford, but has clinics across the East of the County (Broxbourne Borough, East Herts District and WelHat Borough).
The successful candidate will receive up to £120 towards their registration fee, which will be paid upon commencement. This payment will be subject to tax and national insurance deductions.
Main duties of the job
As part of the EMDASS team you will work with a range of other professionals including Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists to assess individuals with memory problems and early stage dementia. Your work will use your expert clinical assessment skills within a clinic setting or in people's own homes to assist with the assessment of dementia. The work will also involve the support of individuals who have recently been diagnosed with dementia. As a team we regularly hold teaching and reflective sessions, and look to embed an open culture of learning through our governance. You will have regular supervision, and an appraisal that looks to support your development.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Degree, diploma or equivelant in Nursing (Mental Health Nursing)
- Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Mentorship Preparation Course.
- Two years post registration experience, with at least one year post registration experience in Older People's Mental Health Care.
- Post registration course in Dementia
- Commitment to become nonmedical prescriber
- Understanding of end of life care in dementia
- Knowledge of legislation related to mental health and social care (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, National Service Framework, National Dementia Strategy, Care Programme Approach etc)
