Job summary

We are looking for Band 6 Charge Nurses to join the leadership teams across our 5 units.

Lambourn Grove, based in St. Albans, is a 24 bedded unit providing long term support to older people living with dementia who have multiple complex mental and physical health and social care needs.

Logandene is our 16 bedded assessment and treatment unit for older people based in Hemel Hempstead, providing assessment and diagnosis of memory impairments, and based in Hemel Hempstead. The service is primarily for individuals over the age of 65 years and care is provided via needs led assessment and through multidisciplinary team working.

Seward Lodge is 16 bedded our assessment and treatment unit for older people with dementia base in Hertford, with our staff caring for those who are at their most acute and vulnerable stage of their life.

Victoria Court, is our 27 bedded unit based in Stevenage, providing long term support to older people living with dementia who have multiple complex mental and physical health and social care needs.

Wren Ward is our16 bedded frail functional unit ward based in Radlett, with staff caring for those suffering from depression, anxiety and other psychiatric illnesses, and frailty as a result of physical health difficulties.

We are looking for someone to take a leadership role within the nursing team, supporting the health care assistants and staff nurses on shifts, providing supervision and sharing knowledge to aid development.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must display a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgement and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, their relatives, colleagues and visitors.

The post holder will be required to work independently using initiative, and applying a high degree of confidentiality to all of their work. They must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, manage competing demands and organise their work effectively. We are looking for motivated nurses who can bring energy and ideas to the team.
