12 month Secondment opportunity
The Procurement Department is seeking a motivated and forward thinking individual to play a key role in delivering a cost effective, efficient and responsive procurement service for the Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional person with the vision, drive and skills to help strengthen the impact of clinical based procurement across the organisation. Working closely with the Clinical Procurement Nurse Lead, you will support the team in raising the profile of clinical procurement, ensuring it continues to add real value to patient care and the wider Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Be part of the Clinical Procurement team, embedded in the Strategic Procurement team who undertake a pivotal role in delivering significant value and cost improvement in a creative, strategic and innovative way relating to commercial income and expenditure contracts in order to assist the Trust in meeting its financial targets and objectives, alongside safe and effective patient care delivery.
- Work with the procurement team, nurses and other clinical staff to identify products where quality can be maintained or enhanced and costs can be reduced in line with the model hospital, productivity and efficiency.
- Work with the Clinical Procurement Nurse Lead to support the delivery of specified clinical procurement projects, within agreed timelines, requiring the specialist knowledge and skills provided through professional registration, either in nursing/ midwifery or other qualified health care professionals.
