Ward 15 is a 15 bedded urgent care ward, and is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can work as both part of a team and independently using own initiative.
The post holder will work as an integral part of a Clinical Ward/Team and to be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities/ services in the ward area, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
Some of the main duties of the post holder will be to ensure smooth delivery, restocking, cleaning, general hygiene, catering and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patients needs, as determined by the Ward sister/Charge nurse.
The post holder will work co-operatively with colleagues, as part of the team and perform additional duties as and when directed by the ward clinical team, to enable nursing staff to undertake direct patient care.
Main duties of the job
- Order equipment/stock required for patients for example dressings, bariatric equipment, feeds etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of store rooms and ward.
- General hygiene and infection control audits.
- Report faulty equipment and ensure all staff know how to report any issues.
- Supporting the ward with cleaning duties and keeping the ward to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Bed space cleaning audits.
- Covering other wards in the absence of their ward assistants if required by the Trust.
- Completing daily cleaning checklists.
- Would be happy to attend fire warden training to be able to maintain fire safety of the ward.
