Job summary
Worcestershire Royal Hospital Emergency Department has a full time vacancy for a Professional Development Nurse.
This is a role supporting and educating the development of the Emergency Department team with flexibility to work clinically alongside the needs of the department when required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for working within the Emergency Department to facilitate a high quality learning and education experience for nursing and placement students on a pre-registration programme of study.
Supporting the Ward Managers in planning and evaluating the education and development of nurses within the Emergency Department.
Providing specialist education knowledge to ensure that learning and teaching in clinical practice promotes and supports the Clinical Governance agenda, Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards and the Trusts Nursing Strategy.
Work alongside nurses of all grades within all areas of the Emergency Department to facilitate their development and critical thinking skills.
Providing support and guidance to organise and support the development of clinical learning in partnership with ward managers within the Emergency Department.
Maintain full credibility as ED sister/Charge Nurse working clinically within all areas as part of team weekly.

2. Be responsible for the continuing development in line with national Guidance of competency-based frameworks for Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, monitoring and evaluating its effectiveness.

- Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration in Adult or General Nursing or Registered Allied Healthcare professionals with current HCPC Registration. Educated to first degree level or equivalent. Evidence of continued professional development. Training qualification in teaching/education. ALS/EPLS/APLS provider or instructor. ATLS/ATNC provider or instructor. TILS instructor. Leadership qualification.

Essential
- Proven post registration skills and experience. Recent experience at Band 6 or above within an acute clinical setting supporting unit manager. Ability to deliver strategic training requirements Current experience within an Emergency Department setting. Experience of change management and undertaking teaching and presentation. Ability to effectively lead change.

- Experience of Audit and Research. Evidence of involvement in project management
