Job summary

We are looking for staff that are interested in delivering the highest standard of patient care. Experience desirable, but not essential, However you should be passionate about the quality of care you deliver.

Avon 2 is a 19 bedded acute medicine that delivers high standard of care and support acutely ill patients, we have a MDT approach on this ward.

We aim to provide an individualised and supportive environment for patients in which to deliver specialised care for acutely unwell patients.

Our patients need care 7 days a week 24 hours a day, so flexibility to work day, weekends and nights. In return, you will benefit from flexible working patterns and unsocial hours payment and the opportunity to experience working within friendly supportive team.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Support Worker you will be responsible for delivering essential nursing care under the supervision of qualified nurse, this includes.

- Providing personal care

- relaying information

- Assisting with mobility

- Recording vital signs

- Assisting with feeding requirements

- Communication to patients/relatives/carers

The types of duties include: washing and dressing patients, serving patients meals, assisting patients with food and drink, helping patients mobilise, assisting patients with toileting, bed - making, generally assisting with patients with overall comfort, monitoring patients conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.

Acting with compassion you will put patients at the centre of all you do.
