Job summary
Due to expansion of our Echocardiography service we have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team. Predominantly the role is to independently perform and report echocardiograms according to the BSE guidelines, providing high level technical reports, help with the training of junior members of staff along with other duties depending on service needs. All applicants will be expected to have BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent. HCPC registration or RCCP registration (or eligibility to join) is essential. Full BSE accreditation (or European equivalent).
Main duties of the job
To work as an independent practitioner within the Cardiology team.To be BSE accredited; to be able to perform and report own echocardiograms and to amend and validate junior physiologists echocardiogram reports.To practise with a high level of skill and autonomy a range of other cardiac physiology procedures and be expected to perform them if required.To provide technical expertise, supervision, support and training to technical and medical staff.To produce technically satisfactory reports in accordance with national and departmental standards.To communicate complex instructions and clinical information effectively to all categories of patients, ensuring co-operation and compliance to obtain accurate technical and clinical data.To analyse clinical information and clinical conditions during procedures, whereby judgement is required to determine the appropriate course of action.To visual and verbal risk-assess every patient prior to carrying out any clinical investigations.
