Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust

The closing date is 30 April 2025

Job summary

We are looking for highly enthusiastic, clinically skilled, friendly and kind staff nurses to join our nursing team on the Womens Health Unit, Redditch.

We provide a high quality ambulatory gynaecology service for women across Worcestershire to include diagnostics and treatments using outpatient hysteroscopy, cystoscopy, colposcopy, minor procedures and diagnostic ultrasound scanning.

This is an interesting, varied and emotionally demanding area of nursing, which is hugely rewarding for a person that is passionate about Womens Health. We have a cheerful and skilled nursing team on the unit and work closely with the medics to provide our services. You will need to have excellent communication skills to engage with patients, and colleagues. This is an ideal opportunity for a registered nurse currently working at Band 5 and you will be encouraged to develop and enhance your knowledge and skills in gynaecology.

We have a number of roles, full or part time, due to retirement, for band 5 registered nurses. Shifts are 0730-1800h, generally Monday-Friday. There is an option of additional shifts on occasions when waiting lists require an additional clinic, but there is no obligation for this.

If this sounds like a role you would enjoy and you would like to join our team, we look forward to hearing from you.

Main duties of the job

Using your clinical experience and skills you will work with your team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care within the framework of team nursing.

Acting with compassion, you will put patients at the centre of all you do.

You will communicate effectively with patients and their loved ones regarding their care and educate patients where there is a need.

You will communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care.

You will show commitment to sustaining and developing your clinical competence and professional awareness.

You will provide supervision, support, and education to unqualified staff and students

This role will require you to work variable hours in order to fulfil the needs of the unit.

You will show courage by embracing new ways of working and doing the right thing by the people you care for, including speaking up when you have concerns.
