We are excited to offer an opportunity for a locum consultant for dermatology to join a developing service within the surgical division at Worcestershire Acute Trust.
The Trust recognises that dermatology needed developments due to historic challenges which led to an overhaul of the current service provision.
The clinical and operational team have worked collaboratively to develop a new workforce model.
We are utilising MDT approach to facilitate GIRFT recommendations for best practice within our service.
We have expanded the nursing team and extended the skill set to support the patient journey and incorporate a safe and robust pathway including patient trackers, virtual clinics and nurse led surveillance clinics. This has enabled us to improve patient safety and quality.
We are transforming the service to develop specialist areas of practice including teledermatology, paediatric dermatology and acute general dermatology. We are re-opening pathways including phototherapy and secondary care dermatology whilst working closely with Oral and maxillofacial surgeons to support complex cutaneous skin surgery.
We are looking for a motivated individual to lead the team and nurse consultant whilst working alongside the insourcing team to drive forward change and improve skin services for the population of Worcestershire.
Main duties of the job
Join the current leadership team for Dermatology services for Worcestershire Acute Trust.
To facilitate and support the ongoing recruitment of the MDT workforce model.
To support acute general Dermatology for Worcestershire Acute Trust for in-patients.
The main duties of the post may also include general dermatology and skin cancer clinics, minor surgical sessions, teledermatology sessions and attendance at our skin cancer MDT meetings.
There is capacity to develop new services and tailor the job to an individuals area of interest.

be expected to provide a clinical service in the relevant specialty to patients
of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust
and to General Practitioners.
The post-holder will be expected to
provide a service to patients of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust,
