- An exciting opportunity for an HCA Band 2 Decontamination staff to gain endoscopy experience based at Worcester Royal Hospital providing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including emergency out of hours service and pre-assessment clinic.
- The successful candidates will join our friendly and dynamic team to clean, decontaminate and maintain a variety of endoscopes following departmental protocol and to agree standards.

Main duties of the job
Main duties:
1. Demonstrate competence in handling endoscopes such us manual cleaning of endoscopes, decontamination process, tracing and maintaining specialist endoscopy equipment in accordance with local and trust decontamination guidelines and policies.
2. Demonstrate awareness of COSHH regulations and the importance of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when dealing with contaminated equipment or chemicals.
3. Guide and support junior members of staff in their development and assist the Senior Staff Nurses and Unit Manager in the training of all staff in the cleaning and reprocessing of endoscopes.
4. Ensure that weekly water samples are taken according to agreed protocols
5. Undertaking daily machine tests and escalate any concerns to the estates department
6. Work with decontamination team to undertake daily machine tests and escalate any concerns to the estate department.
7. Escalate any concerns regarding decontamination to Sister on duty or Decontamination Lead. and participate on Out of Hours on call service.
