ACUTE STROKE UNIT - WORCESTERSHIRE ROYAL HOSPITAL

WARD CLERK BAND 2

37.5 HRS PER WEEK

12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT

An opportunity has arisen for a band 2 Ward Clerk on the Acute Stroke Unit. The Acute Stroke unit has a total of 20 beds plus 8 hyper acute beds. The unit also has a TIA Clinic with dedicated Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialists and Stroke Support Workers.

You will preferably have experience of working within a hospital environment. We require a motivated, enthusiastic individual with good communication skills and experience of dealing with members of the public.

This post often involves with you being the first point of contact for patients and relatives and a calm, friendly attitude is paramount.You will work as part of a motivated caring team and be seen as a valued member of staff.

You will be supported by the dedicated Ward Administrator and the Ward Manager for the Acute Stroke Unit.

Main duties of the job

You should be organized and able to work on your own initiative and prioritise your workload.You will be dealing with visitors, patients and telephone enquiries and be willing to undertake a variety of administrative duties on our busy ward.Computer literacy and good keyboard skills are essential.

Full training will be given in all aspects of the role including the use of all data systems.
