JUNIOR SISTER / CHARGE NURSE BAND 6
PERMANENT
FULL TIME 37.5 hrs per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse on the Acute Frailty Unit. AFU is a 22 bedded ward including a dedicated 8 bedded Frailty / Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) area and purpose built Dementia Garden. This ward cares for frail elderly patients who require transitional care to facilitate the discharge to their place of residence.
The frailty service has seen some exiting new developments within the Trust recently with the new GEMS Service Team run by a team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners with a new assessment bay on the ward.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for providing a high standard of clinical leadership. You will need to ensure that standards of care are monitored and maintained to the highest standards by being an excellent role model to the team and work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for all patient.

Main duties of the job
As a junior sister you will have proven managerial and organisational skills. Have experience of effectively supporting the team in delivering high quality care to patients.As a clinical role model, you will have the willingness to develop the team as well as your own professional growth.You will have excellent communication skills, at least 2/3 years post registration experience with a passion for frailty and want to make a positive difference to patient experience.
