Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist/Appointments Co-Ordinator at the Worcestershire Oncology Centre based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital

We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible individual to join our existing reception team. The job role requires a friendly, welcoming individual who will work front of house, greeting patients on arrival to the oncology centre.

Excellent communication and IT skills are essential as well as previous experience working in a customer service or patient related environment.

The post is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (on-site), working between the hours of 8am and 6pm (on a shift basis) there will be a requirement on occasion to work up to 8pm as part of a departmental rota.

Main duties of the job

  • Welcome, receive and greet all visitors providing the first point of direct contact contact for patients attending for pre-radiotherapy assessments/work-ups, radiotherapy treatment and oncology outpatient clinic attendances.
  • Be responsible for resolving routine enquiries in accordance with local standards and procedures and referring other queries to relevant colleagues where appropriate.
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate accounts on computer system of all clinic attendances making any alterations necessary, e.g. Changes of patient's name and address, etc.
  • Provide administrative support for the day to day running of outpatient clinics within the centre, ensuring that appointments are outcomed and generated in accordance with clinical requirements.
