Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Women's and
Children's Directorate for a Waiting List Coordinator to work as part of the
Gynaecology team. We are a strong, proactive team who welcome innovation and
adaptability within the service.The role of the waiting list coordinator is to work with the management team and the medical secretaries within the Women's and Children's Division, to validate data entered onto the hospital patient administration system about a patients waiting time, and to ensure that information is accurate, and patients are seen in a timely manner.
This is a full-time position, and candidates would be
required to work 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. We also offer some flexibility with home
working for a limited number of days per week.
As well as being part of the busy department, you'll be
required to prioritise your own workload on a day-to-day basis. Excellent IT
and communication skills are essential for this role.
You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills,
must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a
consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for
confidentiality. We would require a strong communicator and
dedicated team player.

Main duties of the job
To locate missing data by whatever
process is necessary including working with medical secretaries, reviewing case
notes etc.
Ensure all outcomes for relevant
patients are updated and entered into the relevant system following hospital
attendances.
To acquire and maintain knowledge and
skills in the interpretation of relevant medical terminology
To identify and action data quality
issues as appropriate.
Identify and amend inaccuracies on the
PAS system
Maintain strict codes of
confidentiality and security at all times as the nature of the work involves
the handling and processing of sensitive personal data, and adhere to the Data
Protection Act
To validate and enter 18 week RTT data
accurately and efficiently onto the PAS for the monitoring of patients
pathways and for the collection of statistics.
To support the Directorate in
validation of the waiting list, escalating any concerns to the management team
as appropriate
To answer the telephone and deal
efficiently and politely with queries regarding 18 week pathways and patient
information.
To liaise with the Directorate
Management team and medical secretaries to ensure that potential breaches are
reviewed and action taken to stop patients breaching.
To actively support the Directorate
Manager in identifying, reporting and resolving departmental issues in order to
achieve a high standard of quality and completeness of RTT data.
