Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our team of receptionists for Radiology at the Worcestershire Royal. The department is busy and the role is varied. The sucessful candidate will join a small team of Receptionists covering busy reception areas for clinics and GP referrals , including exams for X-ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy, DEXA, CT and MRI. As part of the role you will be assisting in booking x-rays, dealing with electronic orders (ICE) as well as SMS and other admin duties. The team of receptionists may be asked to cover other sites from time to time accross the county and in particular our Malvern Community Hospital.
The successful candidates will join our team to support the delivery of safe and effective care to our patients by supporting Radiology in the provision of appointments and timely attendance of exams.
Main duties of the job
Registration of patient who attend for examinations on the Radiology Information System. Checking patient data is accurate and updating the Hospital master system. Ensuring that exams have not already been done elsewhere. Complying with IR(ME)R regulations. Alerting clinical staff on patient "Alarms".Checking needs of patients, relatives and alerting them to delays. Ensuring post is open promptly and distributed. Checking stationery received is relevant to the department. Checking electronic requests and dealing with them each day. Following department instruction on orders and dealing with them appropriately. Dealing with telephone and reception queries form patients, relatives, GPs and other clinical staff.
Reviewing the SMS test system and dealing with cancellations, rebooks and other messages daily. Taking contact numbers or checking numbers to ensure that SMS messages are being sent to the correct person. Dealing with the rebooking for return journeys for patients coming on transport.
Booking Plain Film X-ray appointments countywide and ensuring that the request lists and waiting lists are dealt with within agreed time frames and targets. Being flexible to cover other sites countywide if required to assist in sickness,vacancies or leave.
