An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and efficient Administrator to work on our Acute Frailty ward and a Speciality Medicine Ward.

The post holder should possess excellent communication and IT skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative. The role will involve the typing of reports, letters and correspondence, the use of Microsoft office applications including Excel and Outlook and using our electronic health records. Answering telephones, organizing ward meetings and providing support to the ward managers and the ward teams.

You will be a core member of the Ward Team and you will need to be robust and dynamic to meet the demands of your role and only the most motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable of candidates should apply.

Main duties of the job

As the Ward Administrator you will be a cornerstone in the efficient running of the wards and will work closely with the Ward Managers, Deputy Ward Managers, Ward Doctors and Nursing staff to collaboratively deliver an excellent service to patients and their families.

Full training will be given in the use of organisational systems. Computer literacy and good keyboard skills are essential and ideally you will have recent experience of working in a hospital/healthcare setting.

  • problem solving approach in everyday situations.
  • Demonstrates confidential and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to empathise, be supportive and sensitive to the needs of others demonstrates an awareness of diversity in the workplace.

  • Previous NHS experience in a similar role.

  • Willing to undertake personal development.
