Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within the Gynaecology nursing team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust for a Nurse Hysteroscopist to work as part of our friendly Ambulatory Gynaecology Team based at The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch.
This is an exciting post for a person that is passionate about Womens Health. We are looking for an individual who is experienced as a Nurse Hysteroscopist, working autonomously in all aspects of an outpatient hysteroscopy service. This is an ideal role if you are keen to provide high standards of care, develop services and enhance and expand your existing skills. The role will positively impact on the cancer diagnosis targets. You will bring leadership within your sphere of the nursing team in order to provide clinically excellent, compassionate care. You must have excellent communication skills to engage with patients and colleagues at all levels.
Gynaecology at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust offers services across our three hospital sites; Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Treatment Centre and The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. We comprise of the Womens Health Unit, Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit, Gynaecology sub-specialty clinics and inpatient care. This is a countywide role.

Main duties of the job
- Act as an autonomous practitioner using advanced specialist skills to investigate, assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of own case load of patients presenting to the Post Menopausal Bleeding (PMB) and Outpatient Hysteroscopy (OPH) service in line with agreed protocols, guidelines and patient group directives (PGDs).
- Provide evidence based, high quality and safe standards of care.
- Provide expert advice relating to PMB and OPH to patients, their relatives, and Oncology/Gynae multidisciplinary team members, medical staff, patient representative groups, trainees and students.
- Provide specialist support, advice and information to patients and their families undergoing investigations for suspected cancer
- Provide specialist advice and clinical care for women and their families, in partnership with other specialised services to facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care
- In collaboration with the Lead For Ambulatory Gynaecology Services, develop and review protocols and guidelines for the OPH and PMB services.
- Be involved in and support the Directorate Management Team in strategic reviews and service development plans for PMB and OPH services
- Develop and lead audit and patient satisfaction surveys for the PMB and OPH services
- Support and participate in audit for hysteroscopy service
- Assist in managing PMB and OPH clinics to ensure patients are investigated in keeping with cancer waiting time targets
