Job summary

We have vacancies within the Elective Orthopaedic Ward and the Orthopaedic Clinic. We would welcome interest from experienced or newly qualified registered nurses who have an interest in Trauma and surgical Orthopaedic procedures and that would like to be part of the patients journey. Both areas have experienced teams that will help to induct you into the areas. We are looking for staff that are enthusiastic and willing to learn, who work well within multidisciplinary teams (physios, OTs, medical personnel, students e.t.c.) and will put patients first.

Main duties of the job

Your duties will include the Basic requirements of a registered surgical nurse. This includes, admitting and discharging patients, administering medications, performing wound care, providing patient education. There is scope to develop and progress and support will be given provide additional training.

In a clinic setting your duties will include wound care, managing clinics, co ordinating duties when training has been completed, liaising between different departments across the Trust. You will require good communication and initiating skills which will develop with experience.
