This is an exciting opportunity for a new developing role within Dermatology at Worcester Acute Hospitals Trust (WAHT). A hybrid role between both clinical and administrative duties to support the Inflammatory dermatology and skin oncology service.
Dermatology at WAHT is currently developing into a Lead provider Model and collaborating with Wyre Valley Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working individual to join our growing team here at WAHT.We are looking for someone who is a team player, has the desire to deliver a top-quality service to the patients and consultants we work with, in line with our trust values and mission.
Having knowledge of any NHS service and RTT targets would also be an advantage.
You will need to be organised and manage your time efficiently. Having the ability to prioritise your workload is essential whilst working within a busy team.
You may be the first point of contact to many patients and colleagues, so it is important that you have an excellent telephone manner, email etiquette with a professional, resilient attitude.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties for this role include;
- Assist in outpatient clinics to complete basic observations, collating and uploading patient photographs
- Work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist team to provide follow up and monitoring clinics
- Working to own initiative to support tracking databases for patients on high cost drugs such as Biologics
- Triage incoming calls and initiate appropriate response in accordance with protocols, assessment tools, and individual pathways, liaising with the CNS team where appropriate
- To actively monitor patient's progress along their pathway, highlighting problems and escalating where necessary.
- Liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure all patients are tracked and identified.
As this is a new role there will be
opportunity to assist in scoping current ways of working to develop future
services.

Nurse Specialists (CNS) supporting the daily management of people on the
Dermatology caseload and waiting list, including long term skin disease and
skin cancer pathways.
To act as a navigator and ensure the
management of patients is efficient and safe, taking into consideration the
individual needs of the patients and requirements of the service. Knowledge and
understanding of patient pathways, including the diagnostic and staging
investigations and treatment options available, is essential. Excellent
organisational communication skills together with high levels of accuracy are
also a key requirement for this post.

delays in the pathway and working to mitigate the impact of delays by
coordinating review and surveillance appointments. It will provide
administrative support to the Dermatology team as well as clinical support where
needed. It is part of a long term development plan and the role can be shaped
