Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Orthopaedic Centre, for a registered Nurse. The Orthopaedic Centre is a busy Out Patients Department which sees both Orthopaedic and Trauma patients. The department is currently open Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.30-17.00.The current vacancy is for 22.5 hours worked over 3-4 days depending on the staffing needs of the clinic. Some knowledge of Trauma and Orthopaedics would be advantageous but not essential . If you are enthusiastic and enjoy working within a busy team environment this post may be of interest to you.

Main duties of the job

Coordinate clinics ,prepare notes for review, wound care. Also phlebotomy and ECG tasks are essential within the team. Excellent communication skills are necessary especially when escalation requirements occur. Knowledge of surgery is required as patients often need to be admitted for surgery same day or in the near future. There is also opportunity for lead roles within the team. We have students regularly and supervision is essential however assessor qualifications is desirable.
