We are looking for
an enthusiastic self-motivated individual to join our innovative Countywide Team.
Based in The Alexandra Hospital Redditch however some travel around the county is expected depending
upon clinical need. This is a full time position 4 -5 days a week.
Worcestershire
County Audiology provides services at Worcester, Kidderminster, Evesham and
Redditch hospitals along with several peripheral sites. The service provides direct referral
audiological assessments on adults and children of all ages, whilst supporting
and referring onto ENT and other acute services.
The post will cover
all sites in Worcester, Kidderminster and Redditch and other satellite clinics.
You will need to meet
the requirements for RCCP/AHCS registration BSc(Hons) Audiology or equivalent.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be able to demonstrate
competency across all clinical fields of Audiology including, diagnostic
assessments of hearing loss, select and fit appropriate hearing aids, take
aural impressions and reassess existing patients hearing and aid provision
according to BSA protocols.
The successful candidate will
also hold a BSc Hons Audiology or equivalent qualification and be registerable
with or working towards registration with the AHCS/ RCCP.
Main duties include:
Direct referral from General Practitioners.
ENT Clinics.
Hearing aid fittings and repairs.
Hearing aid service appointments.
Reassessment of hearing and upgrading/reprogramming hearing aids as necessary.

JOB PURPOSE
This post
has been established to meet the needs of the local and specialist Adult and
Children's Hearing Service for the County of Worcestershire. The post-holder
will provide a wide range of routine, diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures
to adults and occasionally children. Including patients who may have complex additional
needs i.e. patients who have mental health problems, disabilities and Tinnitus. Service delivery is provided by a range of healthcare scientists
(including associate, specialist and advance-level practitioners as well as STP
and PTP students), working in acute hospital and community settings. The
