Job summary
The post holder will be one of a team of analysts responsible for the extraction and processing of data from the data warehouse or other data collation sources; and using SQL and SSRS to provide insightful business intelligence reporting, analytical presentations and interpretations; that will enable our clinical and operational colleagues to make decisions. The post holder will have responsibility for the extraction and analytical manipulation of weekly/monthly information and performance reports at any level as required. These reports will include benchmarking information, monitoring of Health Standards and inclusion of non-patient performance information (eg Finance and HR). Work will include detailed analysis/trends of performance as required by the Trust to effectively manage trust performance.

Main duties of the job
Data Extraction and processing
- Extraction and processing of data from clinical, management information systems and bespoke data sources.
- To translate national standards to the local arena and advise managers on data collection methods.
National and local reporting
- As required have responsibility for any of:
- Managing the process of national and regional data submissions
- Any other statutory returns not specified above.
- As required have responsibility for any of:
- Production of monthly/weekly/daily performance information, Benchmarking, Trust project/programme support, Detailed performance analysis, Business Intelligent reporting including written papers.
Data Storage
- To ensure adequate documentation exists for all data processes.
- To ensure that the data continues to be stored and analysed according to the NHS Data Dictionary, and according to published NHS Information Standards Notices (ISNs)
Data Quality
- To provide oversight on data quality.
- To ensure the Department has a clear view on the quality of the data extracted from the systems before these extracts are sent to external organizations.
- To liaise with the Data Quality Team, trainers and Directorate Information Analysts identifying areas of poor data quality and assist in identifying solutions.
