Imaging Clinical Fellow
Applications are invited for a cardiovascular imaging Fellow
(ST5+ level post), offered by the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust,
based at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a fixed-term post
for 24 months, commencing between January and August 2023.
As a Cardiovascular Imaging Clinical Fellow, you will
receive advanced Cardiovascular Imaging training. We are in the unique position
to offer access to high volume cases in advanced Echocardiography, Cardiac MRI
and Cardiac CT. This program offers the fellow to design their own program to a
degree and focus on the modalities of their choice. The aim of the program is
to advance skill and aim for accreditation.
The post would ideally suit a candidate approaching the end
of an accredited Cardiology training programme or post CCT or equivalent. They
should have a minimum of five years cardiology experience and be independent in
transthoracic echocardiography to the level of British Society of
Echocardiography level 2 accreditation or equivalence. Ideally the fellow,
should have some experience in Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT.
There will be 7 clinical imaging sessions, 1 Transthoracic
Echocardiography session, 1 out-patient clinic and a dedicated administration/research
session.

Main duties of the job

Trust, based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Near completion of an accredited
Cardiology training programme, or post CCT, you should have full MRCP, and a
minimum of three years cardiology experience.
The post-holder will undertake
weekend day cardiology cover on a 1:5 basis at Alexandra Hospital Redditch
You will undertake up to 7 clinical
sessions of multimodality cardiovascular imaging in Cardiac MRI, Advanced
Echocardiography and CT Coronary Angiography. The successful candidate will
have the opportunity to focus on specific modalities and an individual training
program would be developed to help the fellow achieve their goals / accreditation.
As the
Cardiovascular Imaging Fellow, you will be involved in the governance aspects
of non-invasive imaging and help run the MDT.
The
expectation of the imaging fellow will be they are independent in transthoracic
echocardiography to the level of the British Society of Echocardiography
accreditation or equivalence. The fellow will be expected to support junior
trainees in transthoracic echocardiography training.
The
successful applicant will also be expected to participate in audit and research
within the department.
