We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and dynamicCommunity Modern Matron to join our innovative and dedicated community nursing team. The successful applicant will provide strong, visible clinical compassionate leadership and support our community teams within the Central Southend area as well as our Night Service team.
Main duties of the job
To be provide compassionate inclusive leadership and managementto promote high standards of clinical care, patient safety and experience within District Nursing service. To support and deputise, when required, for the Head of Community Nursing in implementing NHS agenda, Trust vision & values within its strategic plans. To be responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day operational management and professional support to the Nursing staff within the District Nursing Service. This may include some Night shift hours to support the Night Service Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership & Management:Provide day-to-day clinical leadership, support, and professional development to the community nursing team and other integrated health and social care professionals. Act as a role model, ensuring the highest standards of quality care and professionalism are upheld.
- Quality & Governance:Drive and embed the Trusts Quality Improvement agenda, ensuring clinical standards meet all regulatory and contractual requirements. Lead on governance procedures, including involvement in complaints and serious incident investigations, identifying key themes for improvement.
- Neighbourhood Working: Work in partnership with individuals, carers, families, GPs, social care, mental health services, and the voluntary sector to develop proactive, person-centred care.
- Education & Development:Create an effective learning environment, identifying and supporting the professional development needs of team members through appraisal and clinical supervision processes.
- Service Development: Work on new and emerging innovative transformational work including digital technology.
Key Requirements
Essential: - Relevant Clinical Professional Qualification (e.g., Registered General Nurse - RGN) with currentNMCregistration.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent clinical/advanced practice, with extensive post-registration experience.
- Significant clinical experience in a senior post (Band 7 or above) within a relevant community or acute environment.
- Proven experience in case management of patients with complex needs and long-term conditions.
- Experience in management/clinical leadership and line managing staff/teams.
- A prescribing qualification (V300 level) or working towards one.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to achieve change in clinical care.
Desirable: - A Senior Leadership accredited course or working towards one.
- Qualification in Specialist Community Nursing.
- Experience of managing budgets within financial constraints.
- Knowledge of nurse-led initiatives and national health policy.
