Job summary
An exciting one year fixed-term opportunity has arisen within the Trust's Capital Team for an Assistant Capital Project Accountant. In this role, you will support the department's Finance Business Partners by providing financial advice and information, working closely with Estates, Digital, and Clinical Budget Holders to deliver the Trust's capital programme efficiently. This is a great opportunity to broaden your finance experience, develop new skills, and make a real impact within a supportive and professional team.
The successful candidate is expected to have strong IT skills, with proficiency in Excel, a good understanding of capital accounting principles, and experience working in a finance environment. While NHS finance experience is not essential, a working knowledge of the NHS finance regime and an awareness of current NHS issues would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job
The Assistant Capital Project Accountant will support the Finance Business Partner - Capital Projects in managing and reporting on the Trust's capital programme. This includes monitoring financial performance, preparing journals, reconciliations, and forecasts, and providing advice and guidance to budget holders. The role involves supporting capital planning and bids, contributing to year-end processes and annual accounts, and assisting with administrative and ad hoc tasks to ensure the effective delivery of the Trust's capital programme.
