This is an exciting opportunity to join our Intensive Outreach Team (IOT), which covers the South East and part of the South West of Essex. If you areenthusiastic, forward thinking, enjoy a clinical challenge and want to use ALL your OT skills then this is the post for you.
The Intensive Outreach Team uses a systemic approach ensuring that those with complex and challenging mental health needs are provided with a robust support framework to ensure their sustainability in the community. As the Occupational Therapist in the team you role is to identify and provide therapeutic interventions and strategies that support engagement and motivation, enable a person to be more functionally independent and to be empowered in their own life.
The team comprises of various disciplines and work with various agencies to ensure seamless access to a variety of services.
If you are highly motivated andcommitted, with a strong desire to succeed and help to continue to develop a recovery focused service then you could be the person we are looking for. Ideally, you will have experience in mental health, excellent communication and organisational skills and an interest in working with people with complex and challenging needs. Knowledge of the VdT Model of Creative Ability and an in-depth knowledge of motivation would be an advantage, although training will be given.
Main duties of the job
ROLE SUMMARY
Working as a member of the MDT with specific clinical input to the Rehabilitation arm of the Intensive Outreach Team providing specialist psychosocial recovery-based interventions. The post holder will use his/her specialist skills and expertise within the team to plan, develop and operate suitable treatment programmes for individuals and groups of clients. They will also have to manage a defined case load using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
